cheynes beach camping day 1 part 2 (2.1.13)

after fishing for a few hours we headed back to the car where we'd parked in the shade across from the beach. we had a little rest under the trees and a bite to eat. it was lovely with a slight breeze. then we headed to the caravan park and got our campsite, set up camp, and rested up under our car awning. miski is so funny - she loves to sit in our laps anytime we go camping.  so she curled up in jose's lap and had a nap.  after we'd rested a bit we went back out to try fishing at the rocks again. a guy just next to us kept catching fish after fish but we only got one tiny little fish.  barely bite size! anyway miski and i just enjoyed the rocks, the sun, the breeze, and the tide pools. i unfortunately burnt my shoulder but it was because i stupidly only slapped my hand there and didn't rub it in - you can see finger marks on my shoulder. how dumb.  i'd put it on copiously and numerous times everywhere else.  how i missed the shoulder over and over again is a mystery.  anyway headed back to camp where jose made us yummy lomo saltado with rice. collapsed in bed but were surprisingly cold that evening (without our blankets, oops) and it was so loud because of some noisy teenagers right next to us.  so not a lot of sleep.  had plans to go fishing very early but woke around 9am so that was out.  many more photos in the cheynes beach camping album

  1. Miski doesn't seem to realize that she is not a lap puppy and more! She barely fits in your lap, Nicole. I can see in the picture that she is about to slip off! Must be frustrating for Jose to be fishing next to someone who is catching fish and he is not! Hope his luck improves.
    Love, Mom
