Nicole was born and raised in Southern California, has had many incarnations and jobs, but currently is a Speech-Language Pathologist in the schools and hospitals. She loves anything outdoors, like hiking, kayaking, biking, trekking, camping, and adventures, wildlife, and creating art. Traveling and experiencing new cultures, food, and places is her current focus. about jose
Jose Luis was born and raised in Cusco, Peru. He has three wonderful sisters and lovely parents. He went to college to become an official tour guide and has been guiding trekking groups through the Andes to Machu Picchu for over 10 years. He is a fantastic guide and is very passionate about his job and local history. He loves the mountains and outdoor activities and has a passion to help disadvantaged children and families. He started a charity group in Peru to help the people in the Andean mountain communities. I wanted to see Machu Picchu and Peru since I was very young. After I finished graduate school my goal was to start traveling since I finally had the time and money to do so. My first destination was Peru and I found two girlfriends who wanted to go with me (thanks Sarah C and Martine!!!) We went in August 2008 and booked a 4 day Lares Trek to Machu Picchu. Our guide happened to be Jose and needless to say we hit it off, began dating after the trip, and the rest is history.
