My little fox

Ryan was trying to get up on all fours while playing ball with us so we helped him into position. He rocked back and forth and enjoyed it but then didn't know how to get out of the position or move forward. It was very cute. He just babbled away at me in an irritated way until I helped him to roll onto his back :)

Friends!

I almost never see my other mummy friends anymore because I never have the car or Ryan is sleeping. But I do bump into them all the time at woolies which is pretty funny. Today we saw Louisa and her baby Isobel. Ryan hasn't shown much interest in other babies until today when he reached right out and tried to touch her face! It was so cute and they gazed into each other's eyes. He's also been putting his little hand against my cheek in the mornings when I nurse him. He puts it right by my mouth and when I give his palm little kisses he smiles and giggles. So wonderful.

Dinner

Meals are no longer an easy, clean event here. Ryan insists on grabbing the spoon and then just waving it around. Well you can imagine what the floor and walls look like. He also insists on grabbing the bowl and putting his hands directly into his food and squishing it around and then looking at his hands. He thinks it's super funny. And he seems to only want cereal though I can get him to eat broccoli and meat too just not as much of it. So meals take forever and both of us end up covered in food. It's funny but we are trying to sell the house so we are trying to keep it clean. It'll be nice when we are somewhere where mess doesn't matter as much anymore!!

Starting to try to crawl

Ryan had a physio appt yesterday because he's still not rolling. Stubborn little man. She went through all of his movements and he's doing so well in all areas except he refuses to roll. He can sit for ages and play with two toys at a time and rotate and transfer toys. He pushes all the way up on his tummy and even pushed up onto his knees! He needed a little help to get his knees under him but he is well on his way to being mobile which is what he wants most in life at the moment - other than eating everything we do. He goes crazy when he sees us eating something. It's funny. He certainly has the strength to roll but resists it for some reason. So we will keep working on it. He was really vocal during the session too for some reason. I think he was showing off. He kept cooing and babbling and grumbling too when the Physio tried to roll him. It was hilarious.

30 weeks

My funny bunny is now 30 weeks old and more amazingly he is turning 7 months tomorrow. I really can't believe how fast time is flying and how quickly he is growing and changing. Every day he does something new. And is bigger or longer! I can hardly recall what he was like when he was tiny or even the fact that he ever was tiny. He has tons of attitude and personality. He makes his wants known loud and clear!! Here are a few of his latest antics. He's taken to ripping his bibs off. He can reach back and grab the end of his bib and pull up on the velcro and get it off. He is also trying to get out of his high chair these days too and almost making it. I heard a clear dada today - obviously not in relation to jose but that was the first two syllable CVCV utterance i've heard. the rest are all VCV (ada, aha, ogoo, utuh, etc).  He also made the bolded sound like in measure which is pretty amazing. Probably just an accident but cool anyway.  He searches for his spoons and toys when they fall off his high chair. He grizzles and grumbles at me when he doesn't get his way, i don't feed him fast enough, he wants my food, he wants out of the crib, he wants me to come play with him, he's bored, etc.  He looks from pictures of miski to the real miski. He looks at me and jose in pics and back at us.  He also now can play ball! I put him on his tummy and he "rolled" the ball over to me and I rolled it back. He kept dropping it and it rolled across the floor to me. we did that over and over again. He loved it!  Anyway mr personality is getting very very active and wiggly and cuter every day.

Cooking extravaganza

Ryan is one hungry hungry hippo these days. I find it hard to prepare stuff on the actual day so today I whipped up a whole bunch of puréed broccoli, cauliflower, yam, beef and potato to freeze and have on hand. Also made up spaghetti with sauce to freeze. He's fine with finger foods now but doesn't get much into him that way so now I have plenty of food to keep him satiated! And then I won't worry he's going hungry.
