Brekkie

We had a pretty hearty brekkie today - eggs and avocado on toast with tomato and banana on the side. Yarm! It's sunny finally so hopefully we can go for a little walk today before the reality of the work week starts again.

Monte Carlo cookies

After a nanna nap this afternoon jose made us quinoa soup and then surprised me by baking Monte Carlo cookies. So yummy!!

Walks and plants

It's been a rather long week. I'm finding it hard to work full time these days. I get so tired! It's also been a bit of a windy and rainy week. Took some nice walks and snuggled with Miski mostly. This weekend we hiked up mt clarence to the memorial. They've done a nice job up there. Then we got a few more plants for the garden. I even got a golden berry plant. Very excited about that one!!

Sunny weekend and good food

I went back to work this past week and it was really tiring. So we made sure to have a lovely and relaxing weekend. Friday night jose took me out to dinner at chicha. Then Saturday we slept in, had a dog training session, went to Nat and Dans engagement party (awesome) and had a movie marathon that evening at home. Today we got up and took a walk at Ellen cove, had brekkie at bay merchants with Miski, sat in the sun, had a nap, and made a fabulously tasty dinner. So fun!

Coconut cake with kafir lime frosting

Doesn't look like much in the picture but boy is it good. Finally got to use one of our beautiful kafir limes! Super easy and tasty.

Amazing veldfire

One of our leucospermum flowers called the veldfire has finally bloomed after a long time cogitating. It's absolutely stunning!

Western long necked turtle

Jose and I took a walk with Miski around lake seppings after work today and I commented at the start of the walk that we never see these turtles we see signs for everywhere. And at the end of the walk we found one! He was very tiny and seemed lost. Apparently the adult turtles cross the road in October to lay their eggs at this lake and then the eggs hatch in the winter between May and July. Such a privilege to see one finally!!!

Loving our swing seat

Today is a tad cloudy so we cleaned the garage and did some more house work. Then we retired to the porch swing which is now a favorite spot of ours. So lovely and peaceful with a great view!

We lucked out today and found a second hand porch swing for sale. I've always wanted one so we could enjoy our sunsets and now we have one! Miski loves it too. You can see my giant baby bump behind Miski :) baby will be here in just a few months now and we can enjoy the swing together in the sun!

Spring cleaning, dumpster diving and lunch

It's not spring but jose and I cleaned the house top to bottom today. So much better now! Then we headed over to the Denmark tip shop for some dumpster diving. Got some great baby clothes and a pool for Miski. Jose got a workout bench and I got a great lounge chair for the back yard. We stopped for a bite to eat at Boston brewery on the way home which was lovely. Had wings, Waldorf salad and a pizza. Even Miski was able to join us outside. A beautiful day!

Heaven on a plate

I woke up starving this morning and we decided to make our favorite Belgian waffles. This time I added homemade whipped cream and bananas. Heaaaaven!!! And 30 min later baby had a little party :)

Walk on the beach

We took Miski to ledge beach today. She loved it of course! It was a bit cold at first but warmed up as we walked. Got to see baby sucking his thumb and yawning (huge ones!) on ultrasound yesterday. Pretty amazing.

Lovely lunch

Met a girlfriend today for a lovely walk at the beach and then lunch at a local cafe. It's nice today, though a tad windy. So nice!

Pork and polenta dinner

Today I made pulled pork in the slow cooker with my favorite spice rub for pork (cayenne pepper, paprika, salt, pepper, cumin, brown sugar or honey, red wine vinegar, olive oil, thyme) and then whipped up some creamy polenta. I also made pickled carrots from an epicurious recipe. They turned out great! Now I just need some triple chocolate cheesecake...which I ended up making too :)

Enjoying the sun

Today we did some cooking and household chores and such. It's such a lovely day that we spent most of it outside and Miski even got a cool bath, much to her disgust. This afternoon I'm going to try making pickled carrots, something I've been craving for ages.

4 year wedding anniversary

Today we celebrated our 4 year wedding (6 year total) anniversary. In australia it was yesterday but going by the Peruvian clock it was today. So we slept in late, took a lovely walk at Frenchman bay, ate lunch at one of our favorite restaurants (frenchys), and had a movie marathon at home. Perfect! Happy anniversary amor :)

Fritters

We've been having some nice weather which is great but I've come down with a cold just at the same time. Boo! So I spent most of the day watching my tummy jump as baby did some acrobatics. He seems to favor battering my left side. It's really wild. Anyway for dinner jose made us honey soy chicken, yams and zucchini fritters. Yum!

Second hand pram!

Found a second hand bugaboo! Totally stoked. Can't wait to cruise around with bub when he arrives. Nearly have the nursery ready for him :) it was a beautiful day today. Went to our second hypnobirthing class yesterday which was great and today just soaked up the sunshine outside
