Little reader

Today was a fun day. It was super cold last night and this morning but warmed up and was beautiful in the afternoon. Ryan enjoyed all our games and meal times and books and songs and exercises. We played with Miski and had an outing. He read the paper with daddy and tried to eat it of course. He's teething like crazy so I don't blame him. He's moved on to mashed food consistency which is fun and today we used a little baby toothbrush for the first time ever! So fun.

Blowing bubbles

My little cutie is cutting two teeth at once poor guy. So last night was a tad tough in the beginning. He woke very happy though and loved his brekkie of apple and sweet potato. Also has bites of my oatmeal. He tried to blow bubbles in his own cup today after seeing me do it yesterday, so clever! He's blowing raspberries tons now and babbling more. He loved sitting down to lunch with us outside today and had little bites of my food :)

Car naps

Yesterday we all went to Denmark to buy Ryan a really nice second hand crib. It's all chemical free wood and paint which I feel good about and is going to be very comfy for him. On the way back he fell asleep and looked so cherubic I had to take a snap or two. He gets more and more interactive every day and his personality shines through more daily too. He loves bubbles, baths and when I blow bubbles in water glasses. He's now got two lower teeth coming in at the same time so that's been a bit tough for him. And he's having bites of most of our food now when it's soft enough to try!

Teething

We had another home open today so Ryan and I had to skedaddle next door (so lucky to have that option). He enjoyed playing on the neighbours bed and you can see his poor cheeks are bright red from teething. I can feel that little tooth pushing through! Poor guy. But he's happy as ever. Such a trooper.

6 months?!?

How did that happen? Ryan turned 6 months today which blows me away. He is such a little bundle of joy and s shy little charmer. He loves to explore and play with anything and everything. He ate bites of my oatmeal today and loved it. He's getting more dextrous every day. He now likes to not just stand but bounce while standing which is super cute. He had his 6 month check and shots today and he's a whopping 20 pounds! He cooed up a storm in the waiting room and charmed all the ladies waiting there with us. He's very shy though if a person approaches him and does not like anyone else to hold him. Happy bday Ryan!

Pincer grasp and watermelon

Ryan's been doing so well lately. It's been such fun. We've played outside on the nice days and inside on the rainy days. Here he's picking up a wooden block with a picture perfect pincer grasp! amazing! Today he also tried watermelon in a mesh bag and absolutely loved it. He sucked all the yummy juice out like a pro. He picks new skills up so fast. He's already sitting up and able to use both hands to play with toys and rattles and put them in his mouth. He props so well and when he falls he doesn't fuss or cry just looks surprised. He is such a wonderful placid baby. I also can feel a tooth under his gums on the lower left side! So exciting.

Cucumber and carrots

Jose had today off so we went to eat lunch at a restaurant! It felt so luxurious to go out. Ryan was such a gentleman. So good and quiet just taking it all in and enjoying the new experience as always. He tried to eat all of our food, drink our water and swipe anything off the table that was in reach. He's quick too! So I mashed up some carrot for him which he loved and gave him his own water too. He also really enjoyed sucking on a cucumber. A nice older couple said how calm and placid he is and what a beautiful baby he is. Every mom loves to hear that!!
